Julia M. (Jordan) Finn, 73, of Middletown, passed away May 19, 2015 at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of Louis E. Finn. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association of New England, 10 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to the Visiting Nurse/Hospice of Newport and Bristol Counties, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.

Lt. Gen. William Sheridan Flynn (“Sher”), 79, of Newport, passed away May 25, 2015. He was the husband of Lynn Egan Flynn. He leaves behind his five daughters, Erin Flynn of Newport, Chyleene (Jack) O’Connor of Middletown, Keely (Paul) Connery of Conn., Deirdre (Tim) Shope of Pittsburgh, and Tara (Brian) Frates of Calif. During his 35 years in the U.S. Army, he held a wide variety of positions culminating with his assignment as Commanding General 21st Theater Army Area Command, which supported the deployment of an Army corps during Operation Desert Shield and provided logistics support to the Republic of Turkey for Operation Desert Shield. He retired from the Army in 1992 and began a second career as the deputy director of the “Big Dig” in Boston. Calling hours will be Friday, May 29, from 4 -7 p.m. at the Hambly Funeral Home, 30 Red Cross Ave., Newport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be May 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, 11 Mann Ave., Newport, RI 02840.

Marjorie Ann Gallagher, 81, of Newport, passed away May 20, 2015 at home. She leaves behind her son, Kevin Gallagher of Newport, a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren. Troy Matthew Henderson, 41, of Providence, formerly of Newport, passed away May 23, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital. He leaves behind his mother, Pauline (Ekstrom) Henderson, and his children, Chandler and Alexis Da- Cruz. Calling hours are Thursday, May 28, from 3 – 7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 29, at Memorial Funeral Home.

Henry Jarzombek, 90, of Newport, passed away May 24, 2015 at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of Marianne Jarzombek. He was a Holocaust survivor and had been interned for various durations in Blechhammer, Auschwitz and Buchenwald. He leaves behind his daughter, Michelle Drum, and his son, Mark. A memorial service in his memory will be held at a later date.

Gertrude Delight Pimentel, 79, of Portsmouth, passed away May 23, 2015 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown. She was the wife of Manuel Pimentel. She leaves behind her daughter, Lori (John) Arruda of Tiverton, and two grandchildren.

Theresa C. Sullivan, 89, of Newport, passed away May 20, 2015 at home. She worked at the Naval Supply Depot and Contracting Office from 1953 to her retirement in 1983. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Mary’s Church Building Fund, 12 William St., Newport, RI 02840.

Judith B. “Becky” Toland, of Fla. and Middletown, passed away May 22, 2015 at her home in Middletown. She was the wife of Asheton C. “Woo” Toland. She leaves behind her children, Lisa (Peter) Rowley, Priscilla Jansen, Max (Donna) Toland, Sam Toland and Samantha Lako, and Jessie (Dennis) Mock, and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in late July.

Richard J. Toner, 77, of Middletown, passed away May 20, 2015. He was the husband of Mary Jean (Crombie)fee. Toner. He leaves behind hiscalldaughters, Catherine (Ronnie) Ferreira of Middletown and Cynthia Gaudet of Portsmouth, and two sons, Richard Toner and Daniel (Jackie) Toner of Middletown, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
