Annual NBS 5K

Registration is now open for the ninth annual Norman Bird Sanctuary 5K on Saturday, June 20. This year’s event is being held in honor of David Leys, Jr.

Adults can run, walk, or jog past scenic vistas of field, ridge and beach while kids can join the fun by registering for the Frosty Freez Kids Run. The 5K start is at 8:30 a.m., registration begins at 7 a.m. and the kids run begins at 8:15 a.m.

After the race back at the sanctuary, DJ Butch will be playing music, there will be free refreshments, food for purchase from O’Crepe Rolling Creperie food truck, and the awards ceremony.

The first 150 registrants will receive a free race t-shirt. The fee to register is $25 until June 1, after that it increases to $30 and the Frosty Freez Kids Run is $5.

All proceeds support the Norman Bird Sanctuary and its mission of land and wildlife conservation, and environmental education.
