In partnership with the Inner Space Center at the University of Rhode Island, students are participating in an innovative science program. Funded by a grant from the van Beuren Charitable Foundation, this unique project links island middle school students with educators, biologists and scientists from the URI facility. The students meet with mentors twice a month during the academic year, and explore the many scientific regimens in the field of oceanography including biology, underwater acoustics, and ocean environmental studies.
