Temple Family Series

St. Patrick’s Day Mass

St. Mary’s Catholic Church will host a Mass in honor of St. Patrick on Sunday, March 15, at 11 a.m. The Rev. John T. McNulty, pastor of St. Augustin Church, will be the principal celebrant and homilist.

Life Lessons from Women of the Bible

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church continues with its “Life Lesson from Women in the Bible” series on Thursdays at 11 a.m. All are welcome. St. Peter’s is at 525 Broadway.

Trinity Lenten Series

The next speaker at Trinity Church’s Lenten Speakers Series, "Feeding Mind, Body, and Spirit: Our Selves, Our Souls and Bodies," will be Timothy J. Demy, Th.D., Ph.D., presenting “Academics, Ethics, Service” on Wednesday, March 11. Blood Drive

St. Barnabas Church will host a blood drive on Sunday, March 15, 9 a.m. - noon. St. Barnabas is at 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.

Insight Support

Insight, a nonprofit organization that helps people living with vision loss learn how to be more independent, hosts a monthly educational group at St. Paul’s United

Methodist Church, 12 Marlborough St., on the second Tuesday of each month. The next meeting will be Tuesday, March 10, in the church hall at 11 a.m. and is open to anyone living with a visual impairment, as well as family members and friends. UCC Chili Cook-Off

The youth of the United Congregational Church in Middletown will hold their annual chili cook-off fundraiser on Sunday, March 15, following the 10 a.m. worship service. Contestants will compete for bragging rights in both the chili and cornbread categories, and winners will be determined by popular vote. For more information, call the church at 401-849-5444. Book Club

Jewish Film Series

The Jewish Film Series will continue on Sunday, March 22, with “The Matchmaker” (2012), hosted by Touro Synagogue at the Levi Gale House, 85 Touro St., at 1:30 p.m. The screening will be followed by a discussion moderated by Dr. Jeffrey Martin, professor of theatre at Roger Williams University. Admission is free but donations are welcome.
