RECENT DEATHS

Kathleen L. Angier, 67, of Tiverton, passed away Feb. 14, 2015 in Middletown. She leaves behind her longtime companion, Michael Borden and her daughter and son. Rose D. (Folsom) Finn, 93, of Newport, passed away Feb. 10, 2015 at St. Clare Home. She leaves behind her son and daughter. Donations in her memory may be made to the RI Wildlife Rehabilitators Association, 25 Shermantown Road, Saunderstown, RI 02874.

Sr. Jane Frances Kane, O. Carm. 96, of Newport, passed away Feb. 8, 2015 at St. Clare Home. Her funeral will be held in Nebraska. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring. Donations in her memory can be made to Corpus Christi Carmelites, 417 West 17 St., Kearney, NE 68845.

Edith Ann Mello, 88, of Newport, passed away on Feb. 12, 2015 at the Grand Islander. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Mello. She leaves behind three children, a grandson and a great-grandson. Dorothy M. (Borden) Milton, 85, of Portsmouth, passed away on Feb. 10, 2015 at Grace Barker Nursing Center, Warren. She was the wife of the late Calvin C. Milton. She leaves behind her daughter Wanda Smith and her husband of Portsmouth, and two grandsons. Services will be announced at a later date.

Albert A. Nannini, 77, of Newport, passed away Feb. 13, 2015 at home surrounded by family following an extended battle with ALS. He was the husband of Donna Lee (Lewis) Nannini. He also leaves behind his sons, Mark Nannini and wife Pat of Tiverton, and Michael Nannini and fiancee Susan Weekly of Falls Church Va., two grandsons and a great-grandson. He was an active member of the Newport Rotary and the Rhode Island Republican Party, as well as the Lions Club and the Newport Yacht Club. He retired as a U.S. Navy Captain (Reserve) in 1990. He was buried with military honors in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Red Cross, RI Chapter, 105 Gano St., Providence, RI 02906.

Clara E. (Vierra) Nunes, 88, of Middletown, passed away Feb. 11, 2015. She was the wife of the late Emil F. Nunes Jr. She leaves behind a son and daughter, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. Carol Ann Perry, 63, of Portsmouth, passed away Feb. 12, 2015 at St. Anne’s Hospital, Fall River. She leaves behind her companion, Sarah Miller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. at St. Barnabas Church, Portsmouth. Gerald Seymour Rubin, 82, of Portsmouth, passed away Feb. 13, 2015 at Forest Farm Nursing Home. He was the husband of Hope G. (Botvin) Rubin. He leaves behind three children and five grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. He was a Providence Police motorcycle officer for several years before joining his brother at Newport Furniture. Flora (Figueiredo) Soares, 86, of Middletown, passed away Feb. 13, 2015 at home surrounded by family. She was the wife of Norman Soares. She also leaves behind her children, Norman “Dusty” Soares of Newport, Tracy Soares and his wife of Middletown, Cindy Haskell and her husband of Fall River, and Susan Ribera of Newport, five grandchildren, and eight greatgrandchildren.
