History Fever Grips Rogers

Rogers High School juniors Alix Paul and Ciara Behan work with social studies teacher John Heino to finalize their National History Day Fair projects before the community judging on Feb. 5. Three snow days in two weeks before the student showcase necessitated last minute adjustments, and many in the junior class – and their teachers – logged late days at the school wrapping up their long-term projects on Leadership and Legacy. Paul discussed Ray Kroc, founder of McDonald’s, and Ireland native Behan presented on revolutionary leader Michael Collins. Rogers High School has participated in the program since 2007 and every year at least one student project has advanced to the national finals. See page 9 for full story.
