Thanks to Bryant Team

To the Editor:

St. Michael’s Country Day School would like to thank Bryant University men’s basketball Head Coach Tim O’Shea, his Assistant Coaches Al Skinner, Frank “Happy” Dobbs, Frankie Dobbs, and Chris Burns, and the entire Bryant Bulldogs basketball team for a terrific community youth skills clinic on Jan. 12. An enthusiastic group of over 60 children in grades 5-8 assembled in our Hill House gym for an action-packed afternoon of hoops and good fun.

We would like to thank Coach O’Shea for opening the clinic with his inspiring words to the kids on the value of persistence in following one’s dreams and working hard in school. We would also like to recognize the Bryant University players for their exemplary mentorship and personalized instruction of the youngsters in attendance. Coach O’Shea’s players are important role models for our children and a fine group of young men.

Thanks to those who brought dry and canned food donations to the event, we were able to collect and deliver 77 pounds of needed provisions to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center food pantry the next morning.
