Under Construction

One year after the International Tennis Hall of Fame received its first city approvals to proceed with renovation and expansion plans, the $15.7 million initiative is taking shape. Existing buildings in the neighborhood were demolished to make room for a 16,000-square-foot structure that will feature locker rooms, a fitness area, staff offices, and retail space. An additional 21,000-square-foot complex will house three new indoor tennis courts, with three adjacent outdoor courts. Other components of the project will enhance visitor amenities and upgrade museum exhibits to include interactive technology. Inset: an architectural rendering shows the new facility as it will appear from Memorial Boulevard. It will mimic the shingle-style fa├žade of the historic Casino fronting Bellevue Avenue.
