RECENT DEATHS

James F. Bartram, 88, of Middletown, passed away Oct. 18, 2014 at home. He was the husband of Edna Bartram. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II. A memorial service will be Saturday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. at St. Columba’s Chapel, Middletown. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Fl., New York, NY 10001.

Marie E. (Antone) Hines, 83, of Middletown, passed away Oct. 13, 2014 at Heatherwood Healthcare Center, Newport. She was the wife of Arthur M. Hines. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Rhode Island Chapter, 245 Waterman St., Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.

Ronald Paul Sams, 79, of Middletown, passed away Oct. 17, 2014 at home surrounded by family. He was the husband of Ethel G. (McIntosh) Sams. He was in the U. S. Navy for 20 years and served in the Vietnam War and did three around-the-world cruises on multiple ships. He is also survived by his children Laura A. Jensen, Kristin G. Baker and Matthew R. Sams, all of Middletown, and Patrick M. Sams of Florida. Burial with military honors was held at Newport Memorial Park. Donations in his name may be made to the RI Veterans Home, Ward N3, 480 Metacom Ave., Bristol, RI 02809.

Frank Souza, 96, of Portsmouth, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of the late Mary (Couto) Souza who died in May. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II and Korea. Burial with military honors was held at Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery in Little Compton.

Kenneth Andrew Zahm, 76, of Middletown, passed away Oct. 15, 2014 at home surrounded by loved ones. He was husband of Mary (Westgate) Zahm.
