Rose Hips are Ripe

What are those red balls growing on the dunes of beaches?

They are rose hips, also known as beach roses, and they are ripe. Rose hips are used in many different ways, such as herbal teas, jam, syrup, beverages, pies, wines, and marmalade. They can also be eaten raw like a berry, but take caution and avoid the hairs and seeds located inside the fruit. Rose hips are also very high in vitamin C. They can be used to soothe coughs or sore throats. They will not stay long, so you better enjoy them now.— Emily Kallman
