Stand-up extraordinaire Nick Swardson is bringing his “Taste It Tour” to the waterfront at the Yachting Center on Friday, Aug. 8 as part of the Newport Summer Comedy Series.

Swardson began his standup comedy career in his hometown of Minneapolis at the age of 18 and quickly earned his stripes at some of the most renowned clubs across the country. As he established his presence in the New York and Los Angeles comedy circuits, he also began to perform in small television roles and made the rounds on the late-night talk shows. He has been featured on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

In 2003, Swardson accepted a recurring role as gigolo Terry Bernadino on the improvised comedy series “Reno 911!” which ran through 2009. He also began collaborating on comedy and film projects with Adam Sandler in 2003, becoming a fixture in many of the movies made by Sandler’s Happy Madison production company. Swardson headlined his own personal sketch comedy, “Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time” on Comedy Central, which premiered in 2010 and ran for two seasons.

A multi-talented performer, Swardson has compiled an impressive list of TV and film credits.
