"Art Hill & Billary Moon," 10 x20- ceramic by Rosemary Day "Art Hill & Billary Moon," 10 x20- ceramic by Rosemary Day The oldest, continuously-operating art gallery in Newport County welcomes the public to a 30th gala anniversary celebration at DeBlois Gallery on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 4 – 7 p.m. Dave Zinno on bass and Clay Nordhill on guitar will provide music. View the artwork of the gallery’s current 15 members, and visit with former artists who have shown at DeBlois. The Anniversary Members’ Show can be seen on Gallery Night, Aug. 14, from 5 – 8 p.m. and during the month of August. De- Blois Gallery is at 134 Aquidneck Ave., Middletown, 401-847-9977.

Escape the hot weather and drop into Spring Bull Gallery for the Artist's Choice Show. As the title suggests, artists chose their best work, not restricted by subject matter or theme, for submission to this juried for entry exhibit. The art chosen by the juror will be on display during the month. The multifaceted show includes watercolors, oils, pastels, graphics, three dimensional and other media. The exhibition opens with a reception on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 5–7 pm. and runs until Aug. 31. The gallery will also be open until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, for Gallery Night in Newport.
