Well, It’s a Start

Christina Jones safely leads Jada and Michael Unger (in wagon) across the freshly painted crosswalk at Broadway and Oak Street, trailed by Taylor Unger “driving” Nick Dugan with Maxx Hill. Could it be just coincidence that on the morning the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC) was to submit its pedestrian safety survey results to the council on July 23, the city finally painted many long-degraded crosswalks on Broadway? The relatively minor task, long deferred for many reasons by Public Works, will greatly enhance pedestrian safety up and down the street. Kudos to the city for responding to an increasing outcry by the citizenry, but let’s not stop there.
