Fun with Technology

The Newport Public Library recently hosted "Imagine, Design, Create," a technology summer camp for children 8 to 12 years old. Participants learned basic programming that allowed them to create images and designs to be produced with a 3D printer or cut from vinyl. One of the many lessons taught was on the conductive properties of many everyday items. Angus Chlebeck, 9, (inset) uses bananas as conductors to complete his circuit as he designs a T-shirt. Todd Smith, 11, uses banana conductivity to play music while he designs a 3D figure. (Photos by Jack Kelly)
