Hospitality Spans Continents

To the Editor:

I would like to acknowledge and thank all those who helped make the concert by world renowned guitarist Diego Campagna on June 22 a huge success. The proceeds from the concert will support the Sister City educational and cultural programs. First, our extreme gratitude to the artist Diego Campagna, who donated his time and musical brilliance; to Mayor Carlo Capacci of Imperia, Italy who arranged the concert; to former Mayor Richard Sardella who generously sponsored the beautiful venue; to Charles Kehres and the Tennis Hall of Fame for the use of the Casino Theatre; to photographer Gerolamo Acquarone for sharing his breathtaking video; to Fratelli Carli for offering their delicious products and to commission member Monica Silva-Burnley, who organized the concert and served as hostess and translator for Mr. Campagna.

I’d also like to thank Donna Maytum, the U.S. Naval War College, Brian Ferreira and the Newport Career and Technical Center, and Sam Kelly for all their support. Lastly, thanks also go to the volunteer members of the Newport Hospitality Commission for their efforts on behalf of the Sister City programs.
