Evening with Raptors

Rachel Hobart, Norman Bird Sanctuary’s educator and raptor specialist, will give a talk titled “Evening with Raptors” on Friday, June 27, from 7–8:30 p.m. The discussion will cover the major groups of raptors, with particular attention on local species, identification in natural habitat, nesting behaviors and hunting prowess.

The evening will end with a live presentation of the sanctuary’s resident Red-tailed Hawk and Barred Owl. These iconic birds of our region were rehabilitated from injuries, but are unable to survive on their own in the wild. These magnificent raptors will pass the remainder of their natural lives in the safety and comfort of the sanctuary’s protection.

This is a 21-and-up event to be held in the studio, where participants will enjoy drinks and light refreshments. Reservations are required and the cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. For more information, visit normanbirdsanctuary.org or call 401-846-2577.
