St. Columba’s Garden Party

Parishioners at St. Columba’s in Middletown are readying for the 23rd annual English Garden Party, set across the grounds of the historic church at 55 Vaucluse Ave., on Saturday, June 7. The soirée will include the signature Devonshire cream tea, a return appearance by the Ladies of the Rolling Pin Morris Dancers, the chapel flower festival competition, a full slate of children’s entertainment and activities, and a cornucopia of food, book and garden treasures.

Tickets for the Devonshire cream tea are $12. The children’s tea, which includes a show and workshop presented by POW!Science, is $5 per child. Tickets may be purchased that day or in advance at the church office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Admission to the Garden Party is free and all venues are handicappedaccessible. There is something for everyone and all ages are welcome.

The English countryside-styled event will be held from 1-5 p.m., rain or shine – so get your “Wellies” out – and proceeds from the party support local charities. For additional information on the schedule of events, call 401-847-5571.
