One of the most dramatic moments along the parade route was the sight of the black sedan leading the family of Frank J. Lema Sr., a retired Middletown police captain and Naval Station Newport detective sergeant who died in the line of duty in September.

Zephyr Vivgen 3, of Portsmouth, attended the parade with his grandparents Woody and Fran Vivgen, of Byron Bay, Australia. Zephyr Vivgen 3, of Portsmouth, attended the parade with his grandparents Woody and Fran Vivgen, of Byron Bay, Australia.
