The advance placement science classes at Rogers High School recently held a science fair. Avianna Guerrero was the overall winner for her project investigating the effect of ultraviolet radiation on the bacterial growth on produce. Second place honors went to Olivia Kutsaftis who studied the amount of radiation present on selected magazine covers. Catherine Hermes placed third by using dry ice to study the effect of carbon dioxide on heat retention in the atmosphere. The science department and all of the participants thank Salve Regina, the URI Bay campus, and all other community partners for supporting these investigations. The three winners will represent Rogers High School at the state science fair competition in March at CCRI.
