Input Wanted

To the Editor:

The Charter Review Commission has met three times since we organized in early November. We have tried to publicize the Citizen’s Forum that takes place at the beginning of each meeting but attendance has been less than a half dozen people who wished to make suggestions about the Charter. Their comments were valuable to us but we need more input from the public to help us make the kinds of decisions that are needed.

We now have an email address of our own. You can communicate with us at newportcharterreview@ cityofnewport.com We hope this will encourage Newporters to send suggestions, ideas and comments about the City Charter.

Our open meetings are twice a month on Wednesdays at the Newport Public Library. They are listed on the city website calendar and on our webpage under Boards and Commissions. Also check for updates in this newspaper. We hope to see you in person!

Chair, Charter Review Commission,
