Remembrances

The Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol Counties recently held a Service of Remembrance at the United Congregational Church in Middletown. The annual event is sponsored by the Hospice Program of the VNS, and it is an inspirational, non-denominational service held in memory of friends and family members who have died during the past year. The ceremony consisted of inspirational readings, music selections, a reading of over 200 names of the deceased, and a candle lighting ceremony to memorialize the recently departed. A Book of Remembrance with pictures and letters about the deceased was also on display.
