Thinking of Spring at Fall Market

Daffodillion, Newport’s drive to beautify the city with one million daffodils, has now distributed 79,000 bulbs for planting this fall. In addition to the nearly 25,000 bulbs given out at Easton’s Beach, another 1,000 were available for free at the farmer’s market on Memorial Boulevard on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Judy Hestnes of the Aquidneck Growers’ Market was met with smiles by everyone who stopped by the booth to pick up a bag of bulbs. For more information on how you can volunteer to help plant bulbs or to donate to the effort, go to Daffodillion.com.
