Rose Island Light Updated

The beacon is shining a bit more brightly atop the Rose Island Lighthouse these days. After months of construction, work is nearing completion on what keepers describe as the building's most ambitious restoration in years. In addition to new siding and trim work, the project also featured the installation of a new lens (inset), which was carefully put in place atop the restored tower. There's been quite a bit happening on the island in recent months, with the installation of a new wind turbine to power the light and the opening of a restored barracks facility to overnight guests.
