A Night at Hibernian Hall

The Friends of the National Wildlife Refuges of Rhode Island will host a fall fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 6 - 9p.m., at Hibernian Hall with an evening of food, music, raffles, silent auction, and more. Wildlife and landscape photography, art works, and many items donated by local businesses will be available for auction and raffle.

The Friends support efforts of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service staff by financing summer interns, presenting and supporting educational programs, manning contact stations, assisting in the invasive plant species eradication programs, and the monitoring of salt marshes and the species dependent upon them. They assisted in the re-design of the Sachuest Point Visitor’s Center’s displays and educational stations and were instrumental in the development of programs that augment classroom science curricula.

Friends’ members played a vital role across the R.I. Refuge System in repairing and restoring refuge habitat, buildings and trails damaged by the effects of Hurricane Sandy last fall.

Tickets are $25 and are available by calling Jack Kelly at 401- 595-6125. For more information visit, www.friendsnwrofri.org.
