NYYC Invitational Sets Sail

Fleet action for the 2013 New York Yacht Club Invitational Cup presented by Rolex will continue through the weekend. A Parade of Sail will be on the final day of racing on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 9 a.m., with the fleet taking a lap through Newport Harbor. Each boat will fly its respective battle flag to identify the team and its country of origin, before heading out to the race course. The best vantage points to view the Parade of Sail are from the docks at the Newport International Boat Show, located at the Newport Yachting Center; along King Park; and at Fort Adams State Park. Prime spots for watching the fleet head out to the course are from Fort Adams and Castle Hill. Competitors leave the docks at the New York Yacht Club at approximately 9:30 a.m. in preparation for an 11 a.m. start.
