Boys & Girls Club Beach Day

Members of the Newport Boys & Girls Club had a beach day on Aug. 29. Their activities included a tour of the Save The Bay Newport Exploration Center, a Clean Ocean Access Beach cleanup, and surf lessons from Island Surf & Sport. After picking up fifteen pounds of trash in as many minutes, the kids all agreed that littering is for losers. They were happy to help protect the home of the critters they encountered in the exploration center, and were especially thrilled to enjoy seaside fun once the beach was cleaned. Pictured were from left Dave Livingston, Elizabeth Dowd, 12, Norelys Hunter, 11, Obadiah Brooks, 9, Julissa Hunter, 8, Healy Dowd, 9, Andrew Going, Alan Johnson.
